The prompt

Create a discovery call plan for my [TYPE OF BUSINESS]. I am speaking with [PROSPECT TYPE] who is interested in [SERVICE / PRODUCT].

What I know about them so far: [NOTES]
Call length: [e.g. 20 minutes]
Things that make someone a good fit for us: [CRITERIA]
Things that make someone a bad fit: [CRITERIA]

Give me:
1. A one-minute opening that sets the agenda and asks permission to ask questions.
2. Ten open questions in a natural order, covering: their situation, the problem and what it is costing them, what they have tried, timeline, budget range, who else is involved in the decision, and what success looks like.
3. Follow-up probes for the three most important questions.
4. How to talk about budget without it feeling awkward.
5. A closing that agrees on a clear next step.
6. A short checklist to decide afterwards whether to send a proposal.

Replace every [BRACKETED] part with your own details before sending.

How to use it

Aim to listen for most of the call. Write down the prospect's exact words about their problem; you can reuse them in your proposal.
